Who is Sarah Holden?
Sarah Holden is a Chicago-based, academically-trained jeweler who makes contemporary art jewelry and sculpture. Her work is informed by strong women in history. Her jewelry is designed to make her clients feel strong, powerful and gorgeous.
Sarah is also a sculptor, using her work to investigating how female identity is constructed and performed through the body.
This necklace is a modern take on the classic pearl necklace. Made with one strand of silver freshwater pearls and one strand of white freshwater pearls that loop together creating a hand knotted freshwater pearl necklace can be worn so many ways! The strands can be positioned with either side being longer than the other or both the same length offering a variety of styles all in one necklace. This necklace was hand crafted using the traditional pearl knotting techniques connected to a custom sterling silver class fabricated by independent jewelry designer Sarah Holden in her Chicago contemporary artist studio.
